Last July 28, 2014, President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III or commonly known as PNoy delivered his 5th State Of the Nation Address. During his speech, he pointed out the improvements of business in our country throughout the past years.
He started that Philippines is now having an invesment-grade rating. 'Giant' companies like Standard and Poors, Fitch's, and Moody's started to give their brand rights to the Philippines, which is good for our country. PNoy also stated that more tourists are now continuously building so much interest on going to the Philippines. But flights to the Philippines came out short. So in order to compensate with the demand, PNoy asked to add more flights to the Philippines to supply the increasing number of tourists visiting the Philippines, Which is also good for our country.
Though he stated some improvements in our economy, he can't hide the failures his administration had done over the years like the overdue of the extension of road reblockings in EDSA, the housing projects of people who are victims of calamities, etc. Even though it is not that pleasant to the ear to hear some negative issues on the SONA, he should still tackle it for the sake of the awareness of his countrymen. In fact, most Filipinos don't watch the SONA anymore because it will only contain the flowery words of the president but not the real state of the country.
