With more than a month more to go, Graduation is indeed, quickly approaching. It is a memorable event in which we will be able to rip all things that we sow through the time we spent in School. But something's not that easy to let go, the friendship we built with people throughout the course of the school.
As our classmate said, ' We started from a simple hello but ended up with complicated goodbyes.' Guess it's somehow applicable to most of us. When we first met during our freshmen years, we were just strangers to one another. But look at us now, we already looked like brothers and sisters to one another because of the bond we developed through the years. But I guess nothing's permanent, everything is inevitable. Some say that they don't want to graduate yet because they will be forced to put away their High School moments but they got it wrong. Why put away those precious memories if you can always put them in your heart? For me, memories are to be treasured and shared, not put into trashes.
The hardest feeling is the feeling of ending such a colorful journey just because you have already finished it. But all things have good sides, and I guess its good side is it will lead us into better experiences in our lives. So why not cheer up and give it a try? All that I am trying to say is to just enjoy what life has to offer, enjoy life as if you are just playing and I assure you, you will never feel like you are having a hard time.

I write my own destiny
When I was still a small boy, I always say that I want to
become a Civil Engineer. I don/t know what came into my mind when I said that
statement. But I am sure that that decision is not the best I can do. So how
about now? What do I want to become? As of now, I already decided to become a
seafarer, a job that I looked up to since I stepped in High School. And I am
pretty sure that this is the path to success for me. Why did I say so? Well,
for me, If I can see myself doing a certain thing in my imagination/dreams, I
will likely be doing that in the near future. And believe it or not, I dreamed
one night that I was wearing a seafarers uniform as I stand next to the
navigation room, and then someone called me ‘captain’. And then I woke up. In
that instance, I already knew that this career will suit me best.
Presently, I am now applying to become a cadet in NYK-TDG
Maritime Academy (NTMA), a Maritime School in Laguna. I chose to study their
instead of studying on other schools because I saw how bright the opportunities
that wait to the people who graduate from there. So I will do whatever I am
capable of to be able to grab the slot to success, and to fulfil my real
ambition.

How the final period went
After three furious gradings, the final grading has already coming into an end. With a little more push, we will already be officially declared 'graduates', a sad yet exciting part of life. And with this milestone in our life, I guess tears will be shedding, not just because of the pain we will be feeling when we will be parting ways with our comrades in High School but also tears of joy.
As my classmate said, ' It is never appropriate to say goodbye to someone. Because saying such word means leaving them permanently and FORGETTING THEM. After the final exams, we will already be trying to spend the rest of our High School life bonding with our friends, cherishing each moment we share because these memories are the 'treasure' we will be carrying through the ages, a treasure that can never be stolen by anyone. Yes t may not worth some bucks but it is worth more than any amount can match.
The final grading is a time where we are trying to cherish every single moment of everyday it has, especially to us, the graduating class. For we will be parting ways to pursue our careers in life, But one thing's for sure, This has been the most colorful chapter of my life. Of course it is sad to part ways with people you love but it is essential to make a step further into life.

Change for the better
As we all know, everything changes as time passes by. The people who are like everything to us now maybe no more than ordinary after some time. But not all changes are negative. There are also changes that makes everything better, like a change for the better, a change for myself.
No one is born perfect. Everyone of us commits mistakes. We all have that 'dark-side' that contains all our bad habits. So we must change these habits to be able to transform into a better individual. I can associate this change into what caterpillars undergo to become a magnificent Butterfly, the metamorphosis. The caterpillar is referred to as myself, myself that is full of those negative characteristics. So it must undergo a very sophisticated process to be able to transform into a better person. But to do this, you must first go through several challenges. We must overcome these challenges to be able to transform and become the butterfly of ourselves.
We are not born perfect. We must all strive hard to be able to become a 'butterfly'. A butterfly that was able to withstand various trials that life had thrown to us. We must change, change, and change again. Because, "Nothing is permanent in this world except CHANGE".

A season worth remembering
Last grading has been a hectic time for most of the students. Many events were launched on both Regional, National, and division level. But i have learned something important this time, prioritization of things.
The third grading period was more of a time management rather than an academic period. First, the Division Schools Press Conference, second was the Vigan City Sports Fest, and lastly, the Regional Schools Press Conference, which was held in Bantay , I.S. It may sound easy but obviously, it is not, and never will be. Imagine weeks of preparations for each event? A week without getting in touch of the things that are going on in your school? Oh God, I feel like I have to burn my brows overnight just to keep in touch of the lessons, which I found hard. And not only that, the Christmas break is also scheduled this period, so we will only be able to tackle SOME of our lessons that will appear on the exam.
This grading's time allotment might not be enough for us but there are lot of things that we discovered not just in our selves but also for other's sake. One of these is we must utilize our time as productive as possible because as the old saying goes, 'TIME IS GOLD'.

Christmas in our hearts
'Whenever I see girls and boys selling lanterns on the streets'. As these lines go, there is only one thing that come into our mind, CHRISTMAS. But what is Christmas by the way? Why is it very special to us?
Christmas is the time of the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ on a simple manger in a stable in Bethlehem. It may not be a 'king's bed' but three magis approached the newborn child, alongside with Mary and Joseph to give their offerings to the messiah. This shows that no matter how simple things show, they are also special in other ways.
During Christmas, we reciever gifts from people whom we know. Big or small, exopensive or cheap, they are all gifts that they gave with all of their hearts, so we must be grateful for them.
Christmas is not all about those fancy gifts we recieve. It's all about the happiness we impart to other in this season/time, and that is the true essence of Christmas.

New Year, new me
Every year, I always promise to change for the better. But you know what? Almost nothing changes. I may start the year with something good bu unfortunately, I can't be able to sustain this start.
So this year, I am not promising myself that I will be a better person. Instead, I will just try to make my life better, without sacrificing things that I love to do. Actually, it is only days left before a new year will unfold. We will see again hundreds of post on social media about those 'new year, new me' thingies. It maybe good to see but will they make it come rue, maybe just 10% of it. So why not try to make it without telling it to others.
Approaching a new year means unfolding new memories that we will cherish, new qualities of us which will be discovered. Just remember to change yourself int a better one, not into a worse one.
Equality for EVERYONE
In every single thing we do, we must observe fairness. We must execute the so called 'equal rights'. Even if you are a girl or a boy, old or young, fat or thin, we all have the same rights on everything. So what can this equal rights give us?
Equal rights is seen when every single person in a certain place has the same rights whether they are rich or poor. These rights include the right to have proper education, the right to have fair justice, etc. But what is going on today? Is EQUAL RIGHTS being shown by people? Clearly, NO. There is no sign that this equal rights actually exist today.
Powerful people intend to obstruct the justice by blinding money-minded law officials with shining bucks, resulting to the tilting of the justice pro to the more powerful ones. And what about the innocent poor people? They are getting punished of the crime they didn't even thought they can do. That's what money can do to people.
People nowadays are being 'right-concious'. They all want that everything is fair and square, which must be the real scenario of today. So may we all speak up fo not just for ourse;ves but also for the whole nation, together we promote the equal rights.

Second quarter For the win!
The second quarter of this school year has been a Basketball game for me. There are lead changes, turnovers, but also there are those momentum blasts. /but why dd I tell so? It's because of the things that happened to me this quarter. So here is the recap of my second quarter.
First, I found it hard to balance being a student, an athlete, and a campus journalist at the same time. These three works require a lot of time, especially on the part of being a student, Although I didn't have those 'grade' problems earlier this year, I fear that I will encounter it afterwards. But these challenges are what makes High school life better, right? Life without challenges is like a drink without a taste. It lame and pale. So, I found a way to balance them. TIME MANAGEMENT. That's how I solved my problem. With proper management of my time, I was able to work on them with less hustle.
Although I faced some challenges, I also had the momentum of my quarter. That is having been selected as a player for the city meet, and qualified for the District Schools Press Conference 2014. Now, I realized that facing hard challenges are not that bad. After triumphing against them, you will taste their sweet prizes. And that's what I experienced. But great things come with greater responsibilities. So, my responsibility for now is to get better on them and at the same time, making my life better.
This grading period isn't just about these fancy things. It's about discovering the best in me. Now, I've discovered the inner me, a joyful, friendly, and understanding me.

My teacher, my HERO
"My teacher, my hero." This quotation says it all. Teachers, as we see, are not the typical superheroes we see in movies. They might not have those cool superpowers like speed, strength, etc. But they have this very special power, the power to transform the youth into better people.
Teachers are people who dedicate their lives on educating other people, especially children but almost not having sufficient time for their own children, and even for themselves. Being a teacher requires vast knowledge, you must have a great patience, and also, you must have the passion for it. Without those, you will never succeed in this field.
As my teacher in Economics say, "Teaching is not a profession. IT is a VOCATION."This explained me why teachers were able to stay happy through the hard times they face great challenges. This alone convinced me that these magnificent people have the guts to change us, the youth, which are referred as the future of the world.
Teachers may not be perfect people, but I am sure that they are the heroes of our generation. Without them, the youth will not have a bright future waiting for them. So I saute all the teachers out there. HATS OFF TO YOU, Sir/Ma'am.

Making a better world through Sports and Dances
Sports has made a breakthrough to the entire world, being one of the most talked about fields of today. That's why schools including ISNHS launched the Intramurals 2014. This is a three-day event that features the students competing with each other through Sports and Dances.
The event consists of many games, both the professionally-played sports (e.g Basketball, Volleyball), parlor games, and dances. The event started with a parade around the school led by the colors, followed by the marching band, and the athletes. After the parade, they proceed to the gym for the formalities. A ceremonial toss was conducted to formally start the games. On the second day, most of the games were played. Basketball became the main highlight of the day because of the championship game of the roaring Seniors against the cunning Juniors. Despite of the Seniors clinching the championship, the Juniors squad made an impressive game, dominating the early quarters of the game. But the last day was postponed due to the sensational Typhoon Mario, which visited the locality that day. The continuation of the intramurals was conducted for two days during the 3-5 PM of the day. Although the fun was not already there, we still managed to find something for us to have fun.
Intramurals isn't just an event to test who is the best among the rest, it also tests the camaraderie and sportsmanship f every person involved. The result of the said activity is something our school can be proud of because the event went on smoothly and peacefully, which is a great achievement. And most importantly, it gave the students a chance to have fun even for just a short period of time.
Science in Action!
Science had made this world change through the years by its technological advancements. From the invention of touch screen smart phones, to the invention of other recent machines. Science has made the solar energy be transformed to a power to supply lights to houses.
This month of September, Science club have officially launched the Science month celebration with the theme "." Which is related to loading of guns with bullets, which plays an important role on the theme. By loading ourselves with the required knowledge, we are packing ourselves with the most powerful weapon, knowledge. With this knowledge, we can soar high to reach our respective goals.
For me, as an individual, I have a simple yet meaningful goal in life, that is to finish my studies, help my parents and live my own life. With the help of Science, I can make my life easier through connecting people through phones, searching desired items on the internet, and many more.

Heroes of Today
"What makes Superman a hero is not that he has power, but
that he has the wisdom and the maturity to use the power wisely. From an acting
point of view, that's how I approached the part." As said in the quotation made by Christopher Reeve, being a hero does not require superhuman capabilities. One can just be an ordinary person. The concept of how a hero must be had been changed through the years. From a hero with superhuman powers, to an ordinary person with no superpowers.
In the earlier years, heroes are typically described by people with immense strength, immortal lives, and superhuman capabilities. As seen in some comics, heroes like Superman, Batman, etc., are the world's most famous heroes known. Why are they called heroes anyway? They are called heroes because they did great things for the sake of the good of other people.
But in the present generation, the qualities of a TRUE hero are possessed by mere ordinary people. Our National heroes like Dr. Jose Rizal, Andres Bonifacio, etc. didn't have powers like superhuman strength, Godspeed, etc. but they still were called heroes by people. That's because they had the guts to do something good to actually change the nation(if not the world) into a better place for us to live.
For me, my parents alone are the best heroes I've seen in my whole life. Yes, they have no super powers but they sure had the goodness that molded me into what I am today. If not because of them, no 'Jhed' is here today, and maybe many other people. I also consider our teachers hero because of their patience that is beyond their maximum and their unconditional love for us.
The qualities of a typical hero maybe had been changed through the years, but the trues meaning of a hero will remain as a person who has the wisdom and the maturity to use the power wisely. From an acting point of view. modern-day heroes maybe physically inferior than the heroes we see in comics or movies, but their immense will to make a good change cannot be matched by even superheroes with those super powers. And that's how I take what a modern-day hero is.

Fight Malnutrition!
Every 7th month of the year, we are celebrating the Nutrition month. This year's theme is "Kalamidad paghandaan. Gutom at malnutrisyon agapan." There maybe a good meaning lying on those words. But first, let us define the meaning of those words.
Malnutritsyon, or in English malnutrition,is the unhealthy condition that results from not eating enough food or not eating enough healthy foods. This maybe acquired by eating less or eating junk foods. Hunk foods are like silent killers because they contain very high quantities of some substances that can cause harm to our bodies. So instead of eating junk foods, why just eat vegetables? In that way, you can stay more healthy and fight malnutrition.
On the other hand is calamity. It refers ti the occutences of phenomenoms natural or man made that causes harm to people. How can you save lives during calamities if you are not well nourished? Or can you even survive it yourself? Absolutely no. But the solution is very easy yet very effective. Just eat healthy foods together with proper lifestyle and surely you will be able to withstand any calamity in life
As the saying goes," Health is wealth." Being healthy id being wealthy. Maybe not in terms of financial but in terms of physical. And remember, it's better to be a healthy person than being a rich person with an unhealthy body.

SONA 2k14
Last July 28, 2014, President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III or commonly known as PNoy delivered his 5th State Of the Nation Address. During his speech, he pointed out the improvements of business in our country throughout the past years.
He started that Philippines is now having an invesment-grade rating. 'Giant' companies like Standard and Poors, Fitch's, and Moody's started to give their brand rights to the Philippines, which is good for our country. PNoy also stated that more tourists are now continuously building so much interest on going to the Philippines. But flights to the Philippines came out short. So in order to compensate with the demand, PNoy asked to add more flights to the Philippines to supply the increasing number of tourists visiting the Philippines, Which is also good for our country.
Though he stated some improvements in our economy, he can't hide the failures his administration had done over the years like the overdue of the extension of road reblockings in EDSA, the housing projects of people who are victims of calamities, etc. Even though it is not that pleasant to the ear to hear some negative issues on the SONA, he should still tackle it for the sake of the awareness of his countrymen. In fact, most Filipinos don't watch the SONA anymore because it will only contain the flowery words of the president but not the real state of the country.

First Quarter Ends!
It's been two months since our last year here in High School began. We must now enjoy our last year and at the same time, do our very best to make our High school life memorable in terms of memories and academics.
First grading is now coming to an end. After the Periodical exams, the first quarter of the school year will officially end. So far, my First grading experience became very exciting. Many challenges arouse like tons of projects and a lot of requirements to be submitted, subjects to be reviewed, etc. Even though these challenges came to me this year, I still received some of the best memories a High school student must have, Fun moments with your classmates. Yes, we, our classmates all vary in terms of attitudes but this made our life. We argued many times but in the end, we all go home as friends with a smile on our faces. We've decided to do everything to win every competition we will join. Yet we didn't have such perfect performances, we are still surely proud of what we accomplished because we know that that performance is what we have made with our hardwork and determination. During classes, we help each other when they are in need, Yet competition cannot be avoided, we did it in a fun and friendly way so we can't feel the pressure. During our vacant time, we have fun, real fun like singing songs together, watching movies, and many more.
The First grading period is about to end but there still some time remaining for us to make the best out of it. So we must just have fun and treat school in a fun way. Although it is really a hard challenge, there is no hard challenge if you are happy on it.Tuesday, July 8, 2014
Letter To The President
Dear Mr. President,
First of all, I would like to greet you a Good day. I hope you will spend a little of your time reading this simple letter I made for you. This letter contains some questions about our beloved country.
First, How can you raise our economy? Yes, maybe you already made some 'enhancements' of our economy during the past years. But is it already enough to be stuck in our economy level forever? Well for me ( and maybe most of the Filipinos), we still want to see more progress of our country. Second, How can you help fight drug addiction in our country? Let's be honest that recently, drug-related cases drastically went up. And what's most alarming is minors are now getting involved on it. I hope you will give attention to this because I believe that youth is the Future of the world.
But overall, I am impressed of what you've accomplished for our country. I like your approval of the K-12 3 years ago. I hope it will continuously increase our productivity level for the next generations, and hopefully will lead to a brighter and better future.
Sincerely Yours,
Jhed Vhinzent Ped
